The POPS Program started in Tallahassee during the 2010-2011 school year. The program in Tallahassee is directed by Dr. Regina Bryant,
District Manager and two collegiate Program Assistants, Ms. Nathalie Calderon and Mr. Sean Chinn. As pioneers of educational excellence, the trio is known as “The Dream Team.” Our student population consists of a diverse group of high school students from Leon County.
Throughout the school year, the students participate in weekly character education sessions, monthly educational workshops, and small
group tutoring activities to address their individual needs. During the summer, students have an opportunity to participate in paid internships in a career field of their interest. Students are also exposed to a wealth of life skills that will contribute to their development and future success.
The POPS program also affords students the opportunity to engage in community service projects such as the Salvation Army’s Angel Sharing
Tree, Keep Tallahassee Leon County Beautiful (Adopt A Street), and a variety of donation drives for the community.
The Tallahassee district publishes the POPS TIMES, a quarterly newsletter utilized to inform, educate, and inspire its members, supporters, and the community. We are also spreading the news on YouTube, where you can search “Tallahassee POPS Program” for a general overview of our
program.
